About us
In 1982, despite a difficult economic climate and after obtaining a grant, two associates in a custom furniture design boutique gave Maryse Crôteau a tremendous opportunity. The quality of her concepts quickly convinced them to market collections created by her, and from then on, she became involved in all special layout projects.
Strengthened by the experience she had acquired and confident in the loyalty of her customers, Maryse decided to create her own company in 1989. Création Maryse Crôteau Inc. was born and opened its doors in a small office located on the 3rd floor of a building on Côte-des-Neiges Avenue in Montreal.
The clientele was growing, and requests started pouring in. Those opportunities knocked as a recession was looming. The company's activities were reorganized between 1992 and 1997 since the founder grew her business in Bolivia where she taught design and was influenced by her architect colleagues.
Back in Quebec, enriched by her new knowledge and skills, Maryse Crôteau continued her work and kept evolving returning to the business as if reconnecting with an old friend. New talents joined the company, which allowed it to improve and expand.
Having outgrown its premises, the company acquired a spacious 1500 square foot loft in Boisbriand in 2008.
Maryse will be using her team’s talents by preparing and hosting a radio segment on various technical aspects of design.
Keeping its theme and its signature, the company changed its name in 2017: Création Maryse Crôteau inc became CMC DESIGNER inc.
More than 1400 residential and commercial customers have entrusted us with projects, from the most modest to the most audacious and prestigious. We participated at every stage of our more than 950 projects to date, from inception to completion. The thoroughness of our work and the quality of our concepts have brought us numerous customers in the past 30 years, many of whom remain loyal to us to this day.

Worked with Maryse 10 years ago when had our house built. It was time to refresh / modernize the decor, so we called her for help. We started the process in July 2015 and are about finished (spring 2016). We completely repainted the house (5000 sqft), changed a lot of furniture, window treatments and got rid of many items; clean look keeping in mind "less is better".
